Weekly Wax Thoughts- Mixed Uk Vendors

Hey everyone,
So last week on my Instagram (@Piperbeauty) I mentioned that I was going to start my weekly wax thoughts/reviews on certain vendors or categories and to start me off I chose a few different UK vendors. Under each picture of their product (with price I purchased at and where to purchase from) I will tell you my thoughts. Let's get onto this week!
Melt My Heart Wax- Chanel Chance (£0.30 each, @meltmyheartwax Instagram)
I must admit, I did purchase from this vendor on a whim noticing she had a sale and I hadn't heard anything about her wax. I took a chance with this perfume type melt as I haven't smelt the perfume before and on cold sniff that is all I could smell. After about 5 mins the melts had created a pool however I did have to be over the melter to smell a cologne scent (which I could also taste). I melt everything in a small room with a draught excluder on the door and I could not smell it. There was no throw unfortunatly. To get rid of the cologne scent around the melter, I used a yankee tealight in clean cotton which helped.
Fragrance: 1/5.                Throw: 3/5
Melt My Heart wax- Cookie Dough (£0.30 each, @meltmyheartwax, Instagram)
No photo here I'm afraid (I forgot!), but as with the last review, I don't have much to say with this melt either. When taking cookie dough out of the bags (which were super cute!) I couldn't smell anything from cold sniff. Again all 3 melts melted in about 5 mins but I did have to be above the melter to smel anything faint. For a cookie dough scent, I expected to get a sweet bakery note and to my surprise I actually got white chocolate! Which I actually enjoyed when I could smell it. I left this melting for 5 hours and towards the end I did get a good throw for a small room. With this vendor I would say get fresh scents and use in a small office or bathroom.
Fragrance: 2/5.              Throw: 3/5
DeeLights.co.uk- Spring Meadow (recieved from WaxBox.co.uk)
I really was going to leave this melt out this week, but as it's a vendor I've never used before I thought why not. On cold sniff I got a very strong floral which was very off putting however when half melted that strong floral threw! Although I couldn't find any notes, I smelt Daisy, Rose and grass notes. A very aptly named melt that almost knocked me out of my room!
Fragrance: 2/5.            Throw: 5/5
BusyBees- Piña Colada (£1.39, busybeecandles.co.uk)
Many of you will not know this but Piña Colada is my favourite alcoholic drink (I don't drink much) and boy does this smell exactly like the drink on cold sniff! These soy based melts do melt quickly and throw really well. Predominantly I smelt the coconut with no hints of lime or rum. If you want a good mix, try using a vanilla tealight. A favourite mix of mine.
Fragrance: 5/5.       Throw: 4/5
Soy Crumbles- Pink Bubblegum (£6, www.soycrumbles.co.uk)
I will state now that I did receive this product for review however that does not make my review any different. Before I even openned the bag for this crumble I could smell the cold sniff, exactly like bubblegum but not too sickly sweet. The mixed colours before melting are just like a rainbow however once melted and gone cold the colours are even more prominent (see photo above). I used 3 tsps in my air wick melter which seemed perfect for a small room throw. However the initial throw is quite subtle once melted it is perfect! I didn't find this too cloying or sweet for my clean/fresh scent preference.
Fragrance: 4/5.           Throw: 4/5
Mothers Goodies- Monkey farts (£2.90 for 6, mothersgoodies.co.uk)
I just want to say, I'm a bit impartial to Mothers Goodies. I've loved their melts ever since I found them on ebay. The colour of this melt is no exception to this. For a name like monkey farts, this really looks like something a monkey would eat. There was no cold sniff on this particular melt, however when melted I could smell coconut which wasn't even in the scent notes! The banana is prominent which you would expect with this name! I also noticed when melted this melt contains glitter which looks gorgeous in your melter and isn't a pain to clear up afterwards. For a mini melt, it lasts a good 2.5 hours with a good throw and had a calming scent.
Fragrance: 3/5.           Throw: 2/5
Glade + Regents House mix- Pomegranate and Guardian Angel (glade in wax swap, Regents house from Waxbox.co.uk)
I know what your thinking, this isn't going to be a straight review of these melts. And no it's not simply because I didn't like the cold sniff of the Guardian angel, I decided it needed something sweeter. On cold sniff the guardian angel had a cologne yet fresh smell and the pomegranate has an Amber scent due to it being mixed in the bag. This mix melted had an excellent throw however very manly and headache enducing. I did notice that when I walked into my room I smelt a bakery note which really threw me off! I ended up taking this out within the hour and changing it up.
Fragrance: 1/5.             Throw: 5/5

I hope you have enjoyed these reviews and will enjoy the future reviews. Please do remember these are only my personal opinion and everyone's opinion will be different.

Finish 5 by 31st July

Hey everyone,
So I know you probably read that title and thought that's a weird date and it is. I have to reason for picking that date, I just want to finish a few items up. I have actually picked 7 items here but will finish when 5 are finished. I also picked these 7 items using the Roulette method and Megan's (megsmakeup8) 100 ideas. Here is what I picked with them.
An item you don't reach for- Elizabeth Grant Serum
I actually used this a lot when I first recieved this in a monthly blogger box but it seemed to have slipped my mind and I stopped using it. If you can see the small black line under the Torricellumn, that is where I'm starting this project by.
Because of YouTube- Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
I was given this from a beauty friend on Instagram for Christmas and still haven't tried it out. I know it's got a cult following on YouTube, so why not pop this is now? Plus these take about 3 months to use up!
A lip product- Natural Collection Lipgloss
I've tired this product a few times now and every time I've thought the consistency is very thick. Now is the time just to use it up as it's such a light colour that I can pair it over anything. Lipglosses don't take me to long as I like to layer a lot and reapply so we should see this go down a bit.
A pencil Product- So Susan Highlighting pencil
I bet you've all seen this way to much now but it really is a product I like to put down before my brow bone highlight. I'm surprised how much I still have left however I would like this gone again soon.
Cream product- Benefit Watts Up? Highlighter
Again another product that I use everyday but would like it to just be gone so I can move on to something else. I apply this highlighter before my foundation and will also use it as a eyeshadow base to make it go faster.
Something you use everyday- L'oreal Infallable Setting Spray
I really don't like the texture and spray of this setting mist however it does set my makeup (be it foundation or just powder) and it will be gone soon (positive thinking!!).
An eyeshadow- W.O.S in Urban Decay Naked Basics
I use this eyeshadow as a setting powder for my cream shadow bases and it seems to work really well. This eyeshadow is the last I want to use in this palette before I send it to the empties bin.

I'm pretty sure a lot of these products would be used within time anyway, however putting them in a mini project like this, I feel responsible for them and can see my progress better. I plan to update you all every month on the 4th (or around) and then the final on the 31st July.

April Empties!

Hey everyone!
I know I've been a bit MIA lately but I am now back and what a way to start off with than an empties! These are always my favourite posts/YouTube videos to watch. Although I don't go in depth, you can tell that I like a product when you see it more than once in my empties! On to this months trash!
If you don't know how I do my empties, when I finish a product I write into a little note but the retail price (samples equal £1) and throw it into a bin at the end of my bed. When I finish for the month, I then tally the total amount in value and items.

I used up:
1 Haircare
9 Skincare
9 Bodycare
3 Samples
5 Makeup
17 Wax (not shown in photo, see Instagram @Piperbeauty)
1 Eyeshadow
2 Misc

The total value I managed to use up this April = £188.74! This is a whopping amount but I think that's due to the fact I used up a lot of products valued at over £10 and my Nars lip pencil was £19 alone!

I'm seriously getting into using up everything I own at the moment so expect to see next months empties to be a big one!

Waxbox Unboxing- April

Hey everyone,
I've just recieved my April Waxbox in the post and I must admit I'm so excited about this box that I openned it straight away and I'm writing this review just after! It's an amazing box and opening it, you smell everything straight away. I currently purchase the £10 + p&p waxbox (that's per month) however there is also a bigger option which allows you to get more items.
This waxbox is the companies 1year birthday so we did have one bigger surprise in there too! Happy Birthday Waxbox!
Kringle Candle Wax Melt- Sweet Pea
I do currently own a Kringle candle wax melt, however I have not melted them before. These pots contain up to 5 wax melts (if split), however to get more throw it may be an idea to use more than one section. Upon first sniff of Sweet Pea, I do get a very light scent which is almost candy like to me. I think this melt will be a light thrower and may need a mixer tealight.
Kringle Candle Wax Melt- Sparkling
Straight away I will say wow with this scent. I automatically get a lime fizz smell which could almost smell candy like too. I already know this one is going to be tried this month as I can sense it will be a relaxing melt.
Busy Bee Candles Magik Beanz Hot Shots- Butter Popcorn
I have actually already tried this brand from ebay and I know the throw is great. However I have never tried their Magik Beanz before and the idea is you use more Beanz the more throw you would like. Initially I smell the butter from these melts and considering I can't eat popcorn at the moment, these will be a lovely substitute. These are a melt that I wouldn't purchase on my own however.
Woodwick Wax Melt- Island Coconut
This wax melt packs a punch even on cold sniff! When i openned the waxbox, this is the first scent I could smell. I am a lovely of all things coconut or piña colada, so smelling this is amazing. The size of this wax melt could also mean that you could get two melts out of this (chopping it in half) and I'm sure the throw would last a good few hours. Another melt that will be used this month!
Mystic Melts- Monkey Farts
This is a brand I've never tried before and it smells amazing! Available to buy from Facebook and made in the UK, this melt smells just like bananas and bubblegum! It's a sweet, yet enticing smell which will sure make an banana lover happy!
Owl Tealight Wax Melter (mini)
For our "birthday" present from WaxBox we all recieved these mini owl wax melters which are adorable! I currently am not allowed to use these in my room, however when I move into my new place this will have a pride of place and be used to melt all my mini melts and left over wax brittle pieces. It's adorable!

So far I am loving Waxbox and think Paula is doing amazing! Happy birthday again Waxbox, enjoy it and melt to your heart content!

March Empties!

Hey everyone,
So it's that time of the month again and I'm shocked this time. I don't have as many empties as I'd imagine I'd have. I have been working through some of my full size items, so maybe that's it. Anyways here's all my empties!
So I used up:
2 Haircare
6 Skincare
6 Bodycare
5 Samples
7 Makeup
14 Wax (not shown in this photo)
2 eyeshadows
3 Misc

The total amount equals to £196.16 when all prices added up. I think this is an astonishing amount considering there is so little there, however I do have a Dior lipstick in there and a few other items over £10. This next month I'm planning a no buy once again as I seem to get through more when I do those! Wish me luck!

#14by14Feb- Finale

Hey everyone!
It's already finale time for the 14by14Feb challenge and I really think I did well! I've managed to finish/hit pan on 17 items for this project. I want to thank the creators (Glamour with Grace and The KristenKay Channel on YouTube) for coming up with this project as I really managed to get a lot out of my ever growing collection.
I managed to finish:
Clinique Eye Makeup Remover
Simple Facial Toner
InstaNatural Retinol Serum
Dandelion Blush (hit pan)
Natural Collection Powder
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Pink-a-boo
Benefit Ooh La Lift sample
Manna Kadar Eyelash Primer
Makeup Revolution Fixing Spray
No7 Concealer
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Faint in Naked Basics (hit pan)
Light Pink Eyeshadow
Mac MSF light plus
Barry M Flawless Primer
Maybelline Babylips in Cherry

So Susan Highlighting Pencil
So the only item I didn't finish off I knew would still be sticking around. I've actually managed to use up 3cm worth of product in this project and will continue to use this in my everyday routine as a base for my browbone highlighter.

Overall I am very proud of where I managed to get with this project and hope many more will be the same.

Stila Project 10 pan- Update 3

Hey everyone!
I've just looked at my blogging calender and already it's my one brand project pan update time! I can't believe this has come round so quickly, let alone the fact that I've only done 2 updates and my intro to this project although it seems like forever a go that I started it. I now only have 4 products left in the project so let's see what's left!
So far I have finished/hit pan on:
Lip Glaze in Gleam
Convertable Colour in Magnolia
Desire eyeshadow (hit pan)
Wonder eyeshadow (hit pan)
Dune eyeshadow (hit pan)
Colour corrector powder

Smudge stick eyeliner in Lionfish
As I say with every update, I have no idea when this item will be done. One day I will go to use it and I won't be able to twist it up anymore. I do use this product everyday on my waterline and somedays on my tight line, smudged out. Only time will tell when this finishes.
Stay all day liquid liner in Indigo
I have actually found a way to wear this in my everyday work wear! I use this as my normal liquid eyeliner and then go over the top of it with my black shade from my Stila palette (this years pan that palette). I find that this combination only goes with nude or light pink eyeshadow but I don't mind as this is better for my work look.
Smudge Crayon in Antique
Although I have used this everyday as a base for my eyeshadow I have actually only made 4mm of progress. I have however over the last month made some serious progress on this product and with consistant use I could be nearing the end of the product by the end of the project. I am surprised how little this product moves and how slowly it takes to use up.
Lip glaze in Orchard
I really dislike the colour of this product. I think if I decided to start this project over again I would have picked two nude colour lipglosses and they would have been gone by now. I use this colour only on my days off when I know I don't have to re-apply and that no-one will see me. I don't have much to go, just need to continue using it.

As you can see, I really don't have much left in this project considering we are only a month into it. I do need to focus on using the lip glaze and the liquid eyeliner this month though and get them out of my collection.

#finish5byCinco-Intro

Hey everyone,
So seen as another project will be finishing in 15 days time, I've decided to jump on the finish 5 by Cinco De Mayo again. This time though, I've decided to be a little different and use the roulette method of picking items. If you don't know what that is, it's where you write down categories, put them in a hat and then pick them out. After that you then pick items for these categories. This time I picked 6 categories so I had a little leeway. I will be updating you all on the 5th of every month (except February as we are almost there). Here are my items and the categories.
Revlon Rose Glow Highlighter (hit pan)
I recieved this for my good friend (and work collegue) for Christmas and have only used this once. I tend to use a light highlighter for my inner corners of my eyes so I would like to hit pan on the top shade to do this.
Nars Rikugien Lip Pencil- Deluxe Size
Another product I have only tried once but really love the colour! I have no doubt that I can finish this colour up in a few months with consistent useage.
Loreal Infallible Matte Foundation
I love this product! The hype on YouTube and Instagram is real for the oily skin girls! I recieved this before Christmas and have opted to use this most days over my Too Faced Born this Way. I can tell with everyday usage that I won't have long to finish this product as although I can't see through the tube, it feels full of air. We will see, only time will tell.
Royal Apothic Tinties lip butter
This product I recieved in a Glossybox over a year ago now and I haven't reached for it much because of the pot it is in. I've managed to make a good dip in it already however I would like to see this gone as it's over it's expiration date already. My Maybelline Babylips (from another project) is almost gone so I can start on this soon.
Juicy Couture mini perfume
As you can see I have already started to use this and I find that this version of Juicy is very strong and long lasting. I recently purchased a few of these from work for just £8 and would like to get my money's worth. Let's see how much usage I can get out of this before may.
Dr.Organics Dead Sea Mineral Mud Mask
I really don't like this product and it's not because of the mask itself or performance, it's the scent! Because it is all natural, the product just smells of the sea and to have that on your face for at least 15 mins at a time is horrible. I have managed to use this product every other mask since the start of the new year and have made progress, but I do want this gone from my collection!

There you go everyone, some newer things and older things thati just want to make progress on. I know this year is going to be good for me for projects! Time to pan, pan, pan!

January Empties

Hey everyone,
It's time for my monthly empties and boy did I use a lot this month. If you don't know every month I write down the item I've used and the value into a book and at the end of the month I total it all up to see how much I've used up. This number will blow your socks off! First let's see what I've finished.
I used up:
2 Haircare
12 Skincare
11 Bodycare
9 Samples
12 Makeup
4 Misc
4 Eyeshadows
3 Candles/wax (not pictured as I put my wax empties on Instagram but still write them down)

The total value I have used up this January is £272.36!! This value is high due to the 12 makeup items, Woodwick Candle and a Nuxe eye cream. I'm going to take this as a very good start for 2016 and hope that my luck continues in the year.

Stila Project 10 Pan- Update 2

Hey everyone,
It's time for update 2 of my one brand project pan and I believe so far that I'm doing well. I have found a few products that I'm just not using or that I don't know how to make a good look with but you'll see that in the items next.
So far I've used up:
Lip Glaze in Gleam
Wonder in Palette (hit pan)
Dune Single (hit pan)
Colour Corrector Powder
Smudge Stick eyeliner in Lionfish
As I've said in a few updates now, I can't show you the progress on this eyeliner but I have been wearing it everyday on my lower lash line and blending out with a black shadow in the Stila palette. I do like how creamy the smudge stick eyeliners are and they are eyeliners which I will repurchase when I run out in my collection!
Stay all day Liquid eyeliner in Indigo
This is one of the products that I really don't know what look to pair with. I used this product once in the last two weeks with a nude eye and a nude lip and I got a few compliments. I think I've found that I would use a black liquid eyeliner rather than this colour. We will see how I get on with this as I may force myself to use it twice a week at least.
Smudge Crayon in Antique
I'm really beginning to love the colour of this product and it matches perfectly with nude, gold and red shadows. I'm very impressed with the durability of the base too as it doesn't crease or transfer onto my hooded lids. I've managed to use 1cm of product since I started this project.
Convertable Colour in Magnolia (hit pan)
Now you maybe thinking you've already hit pan. Well no, I haven't. I put a pin in the shallow part of the pan to see how much more I had to go and it's actually not much. I'm not going to call this done until I have a 5p sized pan showing. I've really loved this colour on my skin tone and am loving to keep using it.
Use Desire (hit pan)
I don't know whether you can tell from this photo but I have made a serious dip in this colour and am currently using it as a browbone highlight and once my Claire's palette gold shadow has gone, I will use this as a setting powder for my smudge stick. As you can see from this photo, I have also hit major pan on wonder and finished instinct. This palette I would say is not worth the original price as it is easily panned.
Lip Glaze in Orchard
I'm really starting to dislike this product. I've been forcing myself to use this in light layers on my days off to at least finish the product. I've even considered taking this product out and replacing it with another lip glaze in a clear glitter which I know I could use everyday. I know I can use these lip glazes up pretty fast too which is even more annoying. Maybe I can do this.

As you can tell, I really have mixed feelings about this project but I know I will keep going. Stila used to be my favourite brand but I'm finding that I can use the products quite quickly.

7bySpring- Update 1

Hey everyone,
First off, I'll tell you all now, I didn't expect to be where I am in this project already. I've completed so many of my goals that I'm now adding in more just to see how far I can get by 20th March!
So far I have finished:
Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer
Balm Desert Bronzer sample (hit pan)
Rimmel Exaggerate Lipliner in Eastend Snob
Crave in Naked Basics (hit pan)
Clinique Mascara Sample
Revlon Balm Stain in Honey (bonus)
Dior Tie Dye Lipstick in 006 Nude Fever
I still think I'm mad for trying to pan this but actually after my Revlon Balm Stain finished up, I've found myself grabbing for this lipstick over the others. In a couple of weeks I've managed to make half a cm in progress due to reapplication and chapped winter lips (this is a very thin lipstick so goes fast). I still love the colour of this lipstick and will be sad when I finally say goodbye to it.
Finish Naked 2 in Basics Palette
Since you last saw this palette we have a bigger dip in Naked 2 and a pan in Crave! I've also managed to hit the side of the pan in Naked 2. I used this colour in my crease everyday and when I finally do finish it, i will be sad to see it go. I'm going to be working on the other side now to hit that pan.
Finish Balm Desert Bronzer Sample (Bonus)
Now I know this really could be a long shot but using this bronzer everyday I think I could manage it. If not it will be finished soon after the project ends. This bronzer is the perfect colour for my pale skin tone and after I've finished this and another bronzer, I may purchase the full size.

As you can tell, I didn't expect to be where I am already! I think in the next few weeks I will have to add in another makeup product and maybe a skincare product just to get a few more things out of my collection.

7bySpring- Intro

Hey everyone!
After completing a few projects recently, I found myself only doing two projects currently. I already have the #14by14Feb going (almost done 14!) and my Stila project pan, however I wanted to add in a smaller seasonal project to get a few sample sizes of my makeup out my of my ever growing collection. So I hopped on the 7 by Spring challenge and I know there a few different versions of this project, so I just stuck with my normal ways of panning. I'm going to hit pan/use up 7 items by the start of spring (March 20th). I'm going to update every 20th of the month and hopefully we'll have good progress.
Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer
Now I've noticed before that concealers don't tend to go quickly for me in my project pans, however I have noticed that with this product I do have to click the product up a lot for a good amount to cover my dark circles. I don't think the colour is a perfect match for me so to use this in a project would be great. Obviously I have no way of showing you all the progress, so when it doesn't appear in these posts, it's finished up.
The Balm Balm Desert Bronzer Sample (hit pan)
I recently recieved this bronzer sample from my friend Charlene in our recent Beauty Advent Swap (post coming up soon) and I absolutely love it. It's the perfect colour for my light skin and seen as I was using it everyday anyways, I've decided to see if i can hit pan by Spring!
Rimmel Lipliner in Eastend Snob
Do you all recognise this product? It's appeared in a project before and I loved it so much, that I repurchased. I know that I can use this Lipliner up quite easily and I'll enjoy the process of doing so. This will then make my total of lip liners in my collection 4. I will always repurchase this colour though!
Dior Tie Dye Lipstick in 006 Nude
I know, I know. I can hear you all saying now. Why are you trying to pan a Dior lipstick, are you mad? Possibly. Recently I've been wearing this product more and more at work and have seen significant progress really quickly and that is why I decided to add it into the project. For the price of these lipsticks, they really shouldn't be able to go so quickly. But who knows, I could be pleasantly surprised!
Finish Naked 2 eyeshadow
I've been using Naked 2 in my crease ever since I finished my pan that palette and have made considerable progress. However after taking an inventory of my eyeshadows the other day, I really need another to be gone. So I plan to finish this colour by Spring, whether or not I can do that is another question.
Crave (hit pan)
Seen as I have a dark eyeliner in my Stila project, I have been using crave as an eyeliner setter. I've only recently been doing so and have made that massive dip already. I don't think this target will take too long to hit, however I could be surprised.
Clinique High Impact Mascara Sample
Another amazing gift from Charlene however from a different swap and I must say, she really knows her mascaras! I love this one and have been using it for a topper mascara for just over a month. I'm not quite sure how much is left in this sample, but I plan to use it until it's dried out because I love it so much!
Bonus item
Revlon Balm Stain in Honey
As you all know by now, I've been working on this little lipstick for over three months and I've managed to get to here. I did plan to have this finished by the end of 2015, however it just doesn't want to go. So as an added extra I'm going to see if I can finish this little nubbin up by spring. If I do, i will count it as one of my goals.

As you can see, these 8 were only little goals I want to have done by March 20th but if I can finish some of these, then I will be a happy bunny.
