Weekly Wax Thoughts- Make Life Vintage

Hey everyone,
So as some of you who follow me on Instagram (@Piperbeauty) now know I've actually started a YouTube channel which may or may not take over from this blog (I haven't decided yet). At the moment I am doing mostly wax videos however there will be Project Pans and empties too. However I still believe my weekly wax reviews should be written and could be saved if wanted. This weeks melts were all based on a favourite vendor of mine called Make Life Vintage. You can currently buy Nic's wax on etsy and she also has an Instagram (@Makelifevintage) and Facebook (/MakeLifeVintage) page. Let's get onto the reviews!
Fresh Orange
On cold sniff these melts (most packs come with 5, however I think it goes by weight) were predominantly orange, however more zingy than I thought. Within 10 minutes melting time they were throwing great in my smaller room and we're very calming. I initially thought that this fresh scent would be perfect for cleaning days and would mix well with a clean linen smell. These two melts lasted a good 4 hours on strong throw, then the scent starts to dull.
Fragrance: 4.         Throw: 3
Blueberry and Vanilla
As soon as you open the lid to these pot melts, you get hit with the scent straight away. However on cold sniff I could only smell blueberry (although that is still gorgeous). I melted 1/2 a pot for the photo above and I would say that is all you need for a good throw in a small to medium room. Again with this melt, it started to melt and throw in 10 mins. Even when warmed up I couldn't smell the vanilla, however it would smell gorgeous with coconut for the summer months.
Fragrance: 3.            Throw: 5
Fairy Dust
I really was unsure of what this melt would smell like as I didn't have the description and with a name like fairy dust it could be anyone's guess. However on cold sniff it comes out really floral and perfume like with a sweet scent added in. As soon as this half pot went into my melter, that was it. A glitter explosion happened and it was beautiful! After the 10 mins initial melting time, I started to taste (yes taste) musk in the air and it was making me feel rather ill. The smell however turned into a beautiful peony or Rose like scent which I loved! This melt could easily last longer than 5 hours (which is my standard melting time), but the musk taste was putting me off.
Fragrance: 4.      Throw: 4
Raspberry Lemonade
I almost totally forgot to take a picture of these melts, I really wanted to get past the initial 10mins melting time to smell the raspberries. On cold sniff I could really smell the lemonade (or sherbet in my case) however when warmed there was no initial smell or throw. I was a little disappointed in this one as it is my favourite smelt cold. After about 20 mins to half and hour, I could smell a small throw which was sweet but not exactly raspberries. I was not impressed with this one.
Fragrance: 2.       Throw: 2
Black Cherry
Have you ever smelt a melt which takes you straight back to your childhood? This was it for me! My first thought when smelling the cold sniff was that of bake well tarts. My mum used to give me those as a child for school lunches and I just remembered them straight away. A tart black cherry. Again with this melt it was a quick 10 mins melting time before the throw started which smelt faintly of cherry. This melt mixed well with the musk that was left behind from the previous melt.
Fragrance: 4          Throw: 3

I hope your all enjoying these mini reviews of vendors/companies. I do actually have a lot more from Make Life Vintage so I could also do another week for Nic at some point. Next week is Flamingo Candles! Watch out for that.

Waxbox unboxing- March

Hey everyone!
So here's a new box for me and a lot less beauty. Recently I've found myself loving my wax melts more  and have researched subscription boxes for my wax obsession. Which is when I found waxbox. Waxbox is created in the Uk by Paula. The regular box costs £10 + p&p and you can also now purchase a larger box too. Before purchasing I had looked at pictures on Instagram and past boxes looked amazing. Let's have a look at Marches box.
When opening the box, a found a hand written note. The lovely Paula had written me a note to say thank you for subscribing (which I shall be keeping). Under the black tissue paper, were a few business cards from the businesses featured in the box. You also receive a note listing all of the businesses. The next few photos will be the items in this months box.
Make Life Vintage- Parmoviolets
Wax Scentsuals- Green Irish Tweed & One Million
Kiss Air Candles- Clean Cotton
Rosie Mai's Wax Melts- English Rain
Regent House- Guardian Angel
DeeLights Spring Meadow
Melted LND soy Wax melts and more- unknown fragrance (rubbed off the tag)

Out of all of these I can't wait to melt the Parmoviolets or the One Million. I have never tried any of these brands and so far I can say this is a box worth £10 a month. I can't wait until the 8th of next month to see what April has in stock!

Glossybox- January 2016

Hey everyone,
It's time for another Glossybpx unboxing and it's the first box of 2016! Now I was excited about how Glossybox was going to interpret the start of 2016 and I must say I'm a little disappointed as I'm sure you will see in this review. I've recieved Glossybox for a year now and I've had better. Glossybox is £10 a month plus p&p and I pay using the three monthly subscription. They also have subscriptions for other countries so it's worth checking if your country has a box.
(Sorry about the lighting in these pictures, it's a little dull due to the snowy weather!)
As always I will start with my favourite item in the box and work my way down to my least favourite.
Unani Dermo Defense Face Mask- Full size- £11.36
Of corse skincare is going to be first on my list as I'm really getting into my skincare. Masks are no exception. This mask is meant for sensitive skin and during the winter although I do have oily skin, it can become dry due to the heating and cold weather. So anything to pick my skin up again is a plus. It says to use once a week over a cleansed face. I can't wait to try this one out.
Madara Cellular Repair Serum- Luxury Size- full size is £38
I had literally just ran out of my night time serum when this little baby arrived so of corse I tried it straight away. It is a light green colour with a slight herbal smell. It blended well into my skin but left me feeling a little tight. I found it was best to follow with a moisturiser straight away. I can see myself using this luxury sample up quickly.
Glossybox Eyeshadow in glossy mauve- full size- £7.10
This eyeshadow is beautiful and totally on trend for this season! It's a beautiful mauve colour with a slight shimmer that packs a punch when it comes to pigment. I haven't used this yet as I have a few shadows going in my projects at the moment, but I can't wait to give this a try!
Teeez Cosmetics Oasis Gem Lipstick- full size- £11.93
The packaging on this lipstick is to die for, but unfortunatly the colour is not. I tried this straight on and I have come to the conclusion that corals are just not for my skin tone. I also noticed that when applying this lipstick that it coated like a balm and after one useage, that a lot of the product is gone. I must say though, pigment in this lipstick is amazing.
Emite Micronized Powder Blush in 108- full size- £20.59
I know what your thinking and I bet it is exactly what I thought too. I've had this in my Glossybox before. Just the same as my box before, I really don't like this colour and it's way too bold on my skin tone. I have already recieved an email from Glossybox explaining that they have made a mistake with this and are going to send me another item in my next box. I can not fault their customer service, it's amazing. I'm afraid though that this product and the lipstick will be passed along.

Next month we will all be receiving an MUA lipgloss which subscribers will be able to pick their colour, have you already picked yours? I picked the nude to be able to wear to work. As I have already said to my parents, I'm going to give Glossybox until the end of this three months to pick up, otherwise I will be going elsewhere.

Project 10 Pan- Update 1

Hey everyone,
I can't believe 2 weeks has past since I started this project and although I haven't managed to finish or hit goals on anything yet, i am excited with my progress!
I apologise for the dark photos, this was taken in the day however it is very very gloomy in Oxfordshire at the moment!
Maybelline Baby Skin
I do expect this product to be gone very early on in the project, however I am using it in conjunction with another primer at the moment. I have used this product up 2 times before so I know this will definitely be loved! It's perfect for oily skin people and keeps your makeup on for a good 6-8 hours.
YSL Tint-in-oil Lipgloss
I really have no idea how much I have used of this product but I do know it isn't much. I have been really sparse on how much I use this and focusing on using other products up first. I really don't want one of my only high end lip products going from my collection.
Revlon Nearly Naked Powder
This is one of the products I've really done well on! Considering I had only hit pan on the centre 2 weeks ago, everyday use has allowed me to only have a small corner left. This means after drawing out my lines, I am going to have to re-press to allow for more application. This product should be done by next update.
Revolution Vivid Highlighter (hit pan)
I am actually surprised with how much progress I have made with this product. I did not expect by 2 weeks to see the design from the top rubbing down already. This is everyday use with a fluffy brush.
No7 eyeshadow (hit pan)
I can quite honestly say I didn't expect this progress either. I decided after numerous amount of swatching with other colours, that I am setting my eyeliner in my #9bynewyears to hit pan. The huge dent in the middle is how far I have come with everyday use. I also expect this product to have hit target by next update.
Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake
This is the current lip product I am focusing on and so far I have made just under a cm worth of progress which is almost half! I plan to use this everyday until it is gone.
Revlon Balm Stain in Honey
In the introduction I didn't realise how many Revlon products were actually in this project. At this current time I am focusing on using up the lip butter so this product got very little use from myself. This product is also in my use it up for 2015 but if not finished it will roll over to next year.
Marsk eyeshadow dust
I can't really say much about this product except that I have used it a couple of times and found the stopper was letting to little of the product out. I decided to take it out and have used it a few more times (dusting it off after picking up product) for a smokey look. This will probably get used more in the winter months.
Isa Dora Kajal in Icey Blue
Again this is a product I haven't really been focusing on as I've been using up an eyeliner in my #9bynewyears. I did find out though that this colour paired with my pan that palette dark eyeshadows on top allows for winter wear too! This will be my next go to when my other eyeliner is finished.
ROLLOVER PRODUCT-Maybelline Galactic Mauve Lipstick
I have found myself reaching for this lipstick more and more between uses of my Lip butter. I do have to use a few coats to cover my pigmented lips which is why I have made half a cm worth progress. Again this is another product in my use it up for 2015 and will be focused on after the lip butter has gone.

By next update I expect my powder, lip butter and my no7 eyeshadow to be gone and good progress to be made on the others. I have an open mind about this project.

#9byNewYears- update 1

Hey everyone,
I know I'm a day early with this update but I've got a few interviews tomorrow so I thought I'd get this done now. Considering I've only been using these products for just over a week, I've made considerable progress and am already down to 5 products!
I've used up:
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
MonuSpa Revivng Mist
Sally Hansen lip Gloss
Foxy from the Naked Basics Palette (hit pan)
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudest
Maybelline Babylips in Melon Mania
This is the item I believe to have made the most progress on (which is great considering I have a tonne of these!). In my little book I currently only have 1.5cm worth of product left in this and I think this will be done by the next update considering I use this every night and whenever I don't have a lip product on. These have got to be one of my favourite balms for colour and texture however not very moisturising.
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipliner in clear
Again another one of my products which I have used a lot of, so much so it has now broke! I currently only have 1.3cm of product left in this tube which with consistant use, I think will be gone by next update. If this is the case I will sub in a new Lipliner (and a new lip balm for the other).
Stila Smudge Stick Eyeliner in Black Amethyst
Honestly I have no idea how much progress I have made on this product because if I twist it up, I can not twist it back down. However I have been using it everyday and have had to click it up quite a few times. Yesterday I tried it on my upper lash liner (to see if I could use it on both) and I decideded I did not like it there. This eyeliner is just for my bottom lash line so could be sticking around for a while.
Colour Couture Eyeshadow Dust in White
I have actually been using this shimmer a lot which came as a surprise to me. I've managed to use it in my inner corners of my eyes almost everyday with some days all over the lid. I do like this product washed all over my base (which is coming next) and this makes a nice everyday look. I have managed to level with product out in the pot now, so hopefully progress will continue.
Rimmel Scandaleyes in 011 Bluffing
Did you know how hard it is to sharpen these? I try not to sharpen them much as it is a plastic so I try to use the tip down to a nubbin before sharpening. I love the colour and it glides on lovely. I still have a lot of product to go on this but managed to use a good 0.5cm in a week and a bit.

Considering this project is all the way until New Years, I think I will have to sub in a few products to keep it going. I have already finished 5 but want to move as much out of my collection as possible. With this project I'm going to update you all monthly so you can see more of a difference each time!

Project 10 Pan- 6 Week Update

Hey everyone,
Doesn't two weeks go so fast? Luckily I have some more progress to show you on my project 10 pan this time, but I am wondering If I should start doing these every month? Let me know what you think. I've added in a bonus product this time as I can see myself using everyday at the moment with the current eye look I'm doing so I may as well add it to my 10!
So far I have finished:
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation
Rimmel London Glam Eyes in Precious Rose (hit pan goal)
You Butter Believe it Body Butter
Rimmel Wake me up Concealer
Rimmel Kate lipstick in 08
Only 5 (now 6 with bonus product) to finish or hit pan on.
Buxom Amplified Lash Mascara
As I said in my previous update, this mascara has been really dry ever since I got back from Italy. I've noticed a few times now that it is beginning to flake during the day so it may be time to throw this out soon. Which is really annoying because I only bought this in my birthday haul (July) and it's only been 2 months with consistent use.
Mac Dainty Blush (hit pan)
Can you tell it's flatter? I was really excited to see this when I was taking photos of the products. There is barely any shadow now and I'm enjoying it still. I can't see myself hitting pan on this product any time soon, but i really don't mind.
Etre Belle Lifting Peel
I'll be honest here, I haven't been using this as much these last two weeks. However look at the progress I'm making! Matching this with my current night lipbalm is meaning I'm making progress with both items, moving more out of my collection. Keep moving forward!
Collection Bronze Glow Bronzer (hit pan)
Guess what's now being used? I'm loving the fact that soon after my last update I began to use this and now I'm already seeing a dip. I've decided that I'm only going to keep this in my project until I hit pan as I'm really not feeling the glittery shimmer for the fall season. The product itself is amazing though! Consistent use and I may reach pan before I thought.
NYC Smooth Skin Face Powder
I really don't understand why this is some youtubers holy grail product. I mean it's nice and it does the job however, it's bulky, annoying and gets everywhere. There is progress these last two weeks and I am constantly hitting pan and having to re-hit the product to the bottom. The bottom line is where I currently am.
BONUS PRODUCT: Rimmel Exaggerate Lipliner in Eastend Snob
I've been loving this Lipliner with a current project lipstick that I've found myself using it everyday. Why not add it into the pan? I've started where the black line is, however after measuring it broke and is now kind of in the casing. This maybe gone quicker than I thought.

Hopefully I will have even more progress to show you in 2 more weeks, unless we decide to go a month. In which case i may only have a few items left!

Review- Freedom Pro Melts Lipgloss

Hey everyone,
I had to just do a quick review and swatch post for you all as I think the colours of these Pro Melts are gorgeous! Please do excuse the swatches (this is my first swatch post and I chose something difficult!), I will get better with practise.
I purchased the Freedom Pro Melts Lipglosses from Beautycrowd.com, however you can also purchase these from Freedommakeuplondon.com. I chose the colours (left to right) Up, D-ream and TGIF. Here are a few swatches and then I'll go into what I think of them.
Up- Freedom Pro Melts
D-Ream Freedom Pro Melts
TGIF- Freedom Pro Melts

Can I just say, Holy pigmentation batman! These Lipglosses are right on there with colour! I found that after wearing the colour does fade and TGIF does stain (as you can see around my lips). The formula itself is a like a liquid lipstick in texture, glides on and lasts like a lipgloss. For one who doesn't really like the dryness of a liquid lipstick, I love these! They're moisturising, lovely and comfortable to wear. However when applying you do need a steady hand, as a first time swatcher I needed to practise 3 times before even making the swatch for TGIF.

I plan to purchase a few more of these colours and I know Up and D-Ream are going to make more of an appearance in my up coming looks. TGIF is a little too dark for my complexion, so it may not stay in my collection for long.
